TRU attracts outstanding students across the globe with more than 200 programs, small classrooms, cultural diversity and campus life. TRU has constantly supported students for overall development, not just academics but also sports & extracurricular activities.
A splendid example of why TRU continues to be a top destination for talented international students is Natasha Bhagwat. Natasha is a first-year MBA student in the Fall 2019 batch. She is originally from Pune, India and has pursued Computer Engineering from MIT College of Engineering Pune, India. Natasha was always inclined towards management and hence decided to pursuing her Masters. She has a 2-year experience working with Accenture.
“Canada recognizes talents and provides immense opportunitiesâ€. (Natasha)
Like many other TRU students, Natasha was impressed with TRU’s hands-on experiential learning and chance to know the professors one to one.
Since she came, she has been participating in various extracurricular activities. Recently she won the Women’s Singles Title in the Provincial Open Badminton tournament. This tournament took place in Kamloops between 15th and 17th November 2019 and had players contesting from Kelowna, Prince George, Vancouver and other places in British Columbia. This was a ranking tournament recognized by Badminton BC and Badminton Canada as a qualifying event for Senior National Championships. This is her second trophy in two months after winning the BC MBA games 2019 held at the University of British Columbia where she and her team represented TRU.
“The BC MBA Games is an annual tradition that brings together hundreds of MBA students from across BC & Canada to compete in academic, sport, and spirit competitions.†(MBA Society)
She was in the strategy case competition wherein she presented a case for the KPMG-Vancouver. This competition was among the top universities in BC like UBC, Simon Fraser University, Victoria etc. TRU won the overall trophy.
Natasha also presented a case in the NetImpact Tru competition for Kelson Group for Sustainability. She has been balancing her career equally well in academics and sports.
Natasha had been a national level player in India where she won more than 50 trophies during her badminton career spanning over a period of 15 years. She had represented her state and also won many championships back in India. Natasha will now be representing Kamloops in the upcoming national-level tournament to be held in Prince George in December.
TRU wishes her all the best. 🎉
